What is a Laparoscopic Surgery?

laparoscopic-surgery

Laparoscopic surgery, also known as minimally invasive surgery (MIS), bandaid surgery, or keyhole surgery, is a cutting-edge surgical method in which procedures are carried out elsewhere on the body via tiny incisions (often between 0.5 and 1.5 cm).

There are Two Types of Laparoscope:

  1. A lens system on a telescopic rod that is typically attached to a video camera (single chip or three chip),(or)
  2. A charge-coupled device that is attached to the end of a digital laparoscope.

Since many years ago, specialist equipment has been added to the minimally invasive surgery process. For instance, Durham, North Carolina-based TransEnterix received U.S. Using one navel incision rather than multiple ones, the SPIDER Surgical System received Food and Drug Administration approval in October 2009, enabling patients to heal more quickly. Duke University's Dr. Richard Stac created the procedure.

Electronic Surgical Instruments have been Created in Recent Years to help Surgeons. Among the Characteristics are:

  • Visual enlargement — use of a large viewing screen enhances visibility.
  • Stabilization — Electromechanical dampening of mechanical vibrations brought on by unsteady human hands or equipment.
  • Simulators — using customised virtual reality training tools to increase surgeons' surgical skill.
  • Decrease in the number of incisions.
